디지털 이미지의 최소 단위인 픽셀과 데이터 신호의 최소 단위인 비트는 우리 시대를 규정하는 기초 기반이자, 보이지 않는 벽돌이다. 작품은 이를 하나의 조형적 유닛으로 물질화해 소재로 한다. 태양광 집열판과 보드의 결합으로 자립구동되는 결정체는 별도의 전기 공급 없이 자연의 빛 에너지에 반응해 끝없는 0과1, 점멸과 소멸을 반복한다. 서로 교차되고 어우러지는 수백 개의 모듈은 자연의 무질서 속 연속성과 독특한 리듬을 시각화한다. 비트 브릭연작은 8비트가 모여 1바이트, 알파벳 1자를 구성하는 데서 착안, 빛의 모듈로 타이포를 조합하는 연작이다. 레이어드 비트 연작은 빛의 이진적 리듬이 굴절, 투과하며 변주되는 다층적 색감과 그림자, 무드를 다루는 연작이다. 이 시각적 패턴들은 자연과 코드의 교차에서 생산되는 빛의 문법이자 살아있는 시스템, 기억과 움직임의 시학이 된다.

The pixel, the smallest unit of a digital image, and the bit, the smallest unit of a data signal, are the fundamental foundations and invisible bricks that define our era. The work materializes these as a sculptural unit and uses them as its medium. These crystals, which are self-powered by a combination of solar panels and boards, respond to natural light energy without an external power supply, repeating an endless cycle of 0s and 1s, flickering and vanishing. Hundreds of overlapping and harmonizing modules visualize continuity and unique rhythms within the disorder of nature. The Bit Brick series is inspired by how 8 bits form 1 byte, equivalent to a single letter of the alphabet, and combines typo patterns through light modules. The Layered Bit series focuses on the multi-layered colors, shadows, and moods created by the binary rhythms of light as they are refracted, transmitted, and varied. These visual patterns become a grammar of light produced at the intersection of nature and code, a living system, and a poetics of memory and movement.
