은하계 변두리에 위치한 어느 은하 카바레에서, 외계 존재들이 엑소투어리즘(Exotourisme)의 사운드트랙에 맞춰 플라멩코를 노래하고 춤춥니다.
홀로라마 5 (로이 풀러 포에버)는 다양한 매체와 수행성(performativity)의 개념을 활용하여 외계의 환영을 만들어냅니다. 작가가 광범위한 조사와 연구 끝에 소환해낸 허구 및 실재 인물들을 다루는 아파리시옹(Apparitions) 시리즈의 일환인 홀로라마 5는 예술적 창작과 교차하는 외계 생명체에 대한 아이디어를 탐구합니다.
원래 단발적인 라이브 퍼포먼스로 구상되었던 작가의 아파리시옹은 소설가이자 시인인 에밀리 브론테(1818-1848), 베르너 헤르초크 감독의 몽상가적 주인공 피츠카랄도, 오페라 가수 마리아 칼라스(1923-1977)와 같은 인물들을 통해 강렬한 예술적 창작의 순간에 집중합니다. 이후 시간의 흐름을 지닌 홀로그래픽 환영으로 발전된 이 아파리시옹 시리즈는 파리 팔레 가르니에에서 열린 마리앙바드 일렉트릭(2019)과 런던 헤이워드 갤러리가 기획한 180 더 스트랜드의 더 인피니트 믹스(2016) 등 다양한 프로젝트에서 등장했습니다.
The artist has been exploring the different modalities of sensory and cognitive relationships between bodies and spaces, real or fictitious, up to the point of questioning the distance between organic and inorganic life. Metabolizing literary and cinematographic, architectural and musical, scientific and pop references, she creates "chambres" and "interiors", "gardens", "attractions" and "planets", with respect to the multiple meanings that these terms take on in the works of Virginia Woolf or Nathaniel Hawthorne, the Brontë sisters or Thomas Pynchon, Joanna Russ or Philip K. Dick. This investigation of spaces extends to a questioning of the implicit neutrality of practices and exhibition spaces.
In a galactic cabaret on the outskirts of the galaxy, extraterrestrials sing and dance flamenco, powered by a soundtrack by Exotourisme.

Part of Gonzalez-Forster's ongoing series of ‘Apparitions’ - fictional and non-fictional characters conjured by the artist after extensive research and study - Holorama 5 explores the idea of alien life as it intersects with artistic creation.
Originally conceived as live, singular occurrences, artist's 'Apparitions' of characters such as novelist and poet Emily Brontë (1818-1848), director Werner Herzog's daydreaming protagonist Fitzcarraldo and opera singer Maria Callas (1923-1977), focus on moments of intense artistic creation. Later developed into durational holographic illusions, the 'Apparitions' have appeared in projects including Marienbad électrique at Palais Garnier (Paris, 2019) and The Infinite Mix at 180 The Strand, organised by Hayward Gallery (London, 2016).
